Vernisse is a contemporary luxury brand founded in 2019 to celebrate tailor made garments and vintage textiles.
Francesca Filipo and Eugenia Penta collect fabrics, trims and objects from the past, working with vintage and antique dealers around Italy and Europe to create one of a kind garments.
Each Vernisse piece has a timeless soul and is tailor made in Italy. The brand philosophy is to create garments that can be passed down through generations, far from usual trends.
We believe that sustainability and circular economy should be first part of our lifestyle and culture. Quality over quantity.
This mindset embraces every stage of our product life: from design to production, taking responsibility and respect for time, natural resources and manufacturing.
Buying quality pieces and taking good care of them will contribute to make your life more sustainable.
Vernisse is working with capsule collection, avoiding seasonal trends and presenting one of a kind and limited-edition garments.
To minimize waste and unsold items we don’t keep any stock and every piece is made-to-order.
hand made in italy
“We partner only with companies that share our values to preserve a long-lasting future to old techniques and craftsmanship, priceless cultural heritage of our country”.
All our garments are lovingly cut and finished by hand by our expert tailors just outside Milan. Everything is made with extreme care, both inside and outside, sewn with longevity in mind.
Every pleated detail is made by an historical workshop in the heart of Milan where the whole process is handcrafted. The manufacturing has not changed since the beginning of the 20th century.
All our fabric covered buttons and belts, are entirely handmade one at a time, by a family run workshop founded in the 70s in the north of Italy.
fabrics & fibers
Vernisse commitment is to bring new life into vintage, antique and unused luxury fabrics.
We collaborate with selected textile companies that are giving us access to precious leftovers from previous productions, available in limited quantities. This is our way to make our contribution to the circular economy system.
We mainly use the most precious natural fibers from pure silk to wool, from velvet to cotton and linen, according to seasonal requests. We avoid using synthetic materials, aside from special vintage fabrics made of lurex yarns and jersey blends.
our suppliers community
All factories we work with embody the Italian heritage.
We want to enhance sartorial techniques through a more sustainable slow fashion approach.
It’s essential to work very close to manufacturer and build a sense of community to create a long-term cooperation.
Working with small, family run companies give us the opportunity to create personalized garments and accessories and to better meet our customer needs.
Our gift bags are made using selected deadstock fabric, designed to be collected and to be reused to keep your favorite lingerie, pajama, books, notebooks.
We partner with RATTI, one of the leading manufacturers in the textiles industry, to reuse their precious fabric leftovers and create a special edition of unique gift bags born from a common project about circular economy and zero waste.
